Interaction 19

Interaction 19

What we love about this conference is the theme, design in the wild! We also love the focus on education and the local UX community. If you are a design educator, check out the education conference that takes place just before the main event. If you’re a local UX leader, learn more about the retreat made for leaders just like you.

What we love about it is the truly stacked lineup. Speakers include InvisionApp, Airbnb, and more design darlings.

What we love about it is this is an event for coders AND designers. We know UX professionals aren’t one-dimensional, and neither is this event!

Research-Focused

ConveyUX

ConveyUX

What we love about it is the opportunity for attendees interested in showcasing a project. Get real-time feedback from other attendees by setting up a project you’d like to show off!

Design Thinking and Innovation Week

What we love about this event is that it’s more of a class than a conference! Dive into keynotes, case studies, and more.

UXinsight

Recommended for: UX research professionals. Topics include everything from strategic planning to web psychology!

What we love about this conference is the intention behind the topics and planning. In their words, the topics are focused on delving into the intersections of “technology & data (the ‘how’), role & purpose (the ‘why’) and inclusiveness & collaboration (the ‘who’).”

CHI 2019

CHI 2019

Recommended for: students and academics. The conference offers financial support and volunteer opportunities for students as well as a doctoral consortium.

What we love about this conference is this year’s theme: Weaving the Threads of CHI. The idea is to celebrate “people from different disciplines, cultures, sectors, communities, backgrounds – designers, researchers, practitioners – weaving together into one community, with the common purpose of technology that works for people and society.”

User Experience Lisbon

Recommended for: hands-on learners.

What we love about this conference is it combines workshops and inspirational talks for an interactive learning experience.

Enterprise UX 2019

Recommended for: enterprise UX professionals.

What we love about it is its niche focus. The challenges facing UX researchers at a 50-person startup look very different from those facing UX professionals in multinational corporations.

What we love about this conference is that it’s truly global. From Asia to North America to Europe, this event is decidedly international.

World Usability Day

World Usability Day

Recommended for: usability and accessibility professionals.

What we love about it is that this event is truly global. But at the same time, WUD is organized by local groups, making it very accessible for lots of people to attend. Of course, when you get a group of usability professionals together, things also tend to get very interactive!

Special Interest

What we love about this conference is how accessible it is. By taking place virtually and only charging a suggested donation, this conference truly is global and making an impact!

World Information Architecture Day

What we love about it is that World IA Day is typically put on at the local level, so it’s a great chance to plug in with the IA community in your city.

ACM IUI 2019

Recommended for: AI enthusiasts…and futurists!

What we love about this conference is its unique perspective on UX/human-computer interaction. ACM IUI focuses on the intersection of UX and artificial intelligence, so there’s bound to be some interesting conversations.
